Crown Eyeglass plc was founded in 1984, and is one of Europe's leading optical groups, with a board of 4 Directors who run the Company from their Head Office in Blackburn, UK.  The Head Office incorporates Crown's state-of-the-art laboratory where over 60 highly trained technicians manufacture all the glasses sold in the Company's 54 stores throughout the UK, Sweden and Spain.

In 1984 Crown opened its first store in the UK and there is now a chain of stores trading under the names Crown Optical Centre and Direkt Optik.  Our first Direkt Optik store in Sweden opened in Gothenburg in 1992, and there are now 29 stores throughout Sweden.
